Job summary

Elderwood is seeking a Dietetic Technician to support nutrition services at Elderwood of Uihlein at Lake Placid in a part-time capacity. The role focuses on assessing residents’ nutritional health, documentation, and collaboration with nursing staff to maintain high-quality dietary care.

The position requires a nutrition degree, cleanliness standards, and English language proficiency for communication and documentation.

Qualifications

• High level of personal cleanliness and good hygiene; health suitable for food service.
• Regular interaction with residents and staff; able to read, write, speak, and understand English at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Support residents' nutritional health through assessments and documentation.
• Record and maintain nutrition-related information accurately.
• Communicate with residents, families, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Promote resident dignity with compassionate, person-centered care.
• Help ensure dietary services meet high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to verbally communicate well with residents, families, and staff members.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a major in nutrition required.
• High degree of personal cleanliness and good hygiene; status of health suitable for food service required.
• Computer skills and ability to work in various software programs preferred.
• This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
