Job summary

Universal Health Services in McAllen is seeking a team member to manage dietary supply inventories, execute data entry, and support clerical tasks according to hospital procedures. You will maintain PAR levels, stock dry storage, and ensure accurate recordkeeping.

The role involves computer-based ordering, stock replenishment, and potential weekend or on-call shifts. Prior experience in food service and adherence to safety standards are preferred.

Qualifications

• Familiar with basic inventory control standards and documentation requirements.
• Fundamental knowledge of aseptic technique and/or food handler certification.
• 9-12 months relevant experience with food and other food service materials.
• Basic knowledge of Universal Precautions and Aseptic Technique.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines, with accuracy.
• Strong math and analytical abilities for inventory counts and calculations.
• Commitment to compliance with policies, training, and reporting of issues.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with food vendors to maintain efficiency and keep dietary supply area PAR levels. Maintains cleanliness and restocking of dry storage and cooler/freezer(s). Performs routine data entry, supply distribution and clerical support tasks.
• Under supervision, handles inventory management, uses a computer and software to prepare and submit orders, maintain records, replenish stock, and plan for future use based on orders and forecasts.
• May perform receiving, stocking, distributing and packing, and inventory control. Occasional weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, overtime, or on-call status may apply.
