Job summary

Excel Care Newark is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations, guide dietary staff, and ensure safe, high-quality meal service for our residents.

As a member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in supporting resident health, satisfaction, and regulatory compliance, including coordinating with nursing and clinical teams to meet resident needs and maintain standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in food service, preferably healthcare.
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations and dietary guidelines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work weekdays and weekends as needed.
• ServSafe certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and schedule dietary staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Monitor food preparation and service for quality, safety, and compliance.
• Assist in menu planning and special dietary accommodations.
• Conduct daily kitchen inspections and maintain sanitation standards.
• Train new staff and provide ongoing coaching and support.
• Maintain inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to meet resident needs.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal dietary regulations.
