Job summary

Southtowns Care Center in New York is seeking a full-time Dietary Supervisor to assist the Food Service Director in creating high-quality meals and delivering a meaningful dining experience for residents in a long-term skilled nursing facility.

The role requires overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with menus and regulations, and coordinating special events while maintaining accurate meal records and promoting resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Requires high school or equivalent education.
• Minimum 1 year of food service experience in a care or restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of state/federal food-handling regulations; Serve Safe Certification preferred.
• Demonstrates flexibility, integrity and ability to work well with residents, coworkers and the public.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and assist food service staff with meal prep per menus, policies, and regulations.
• Solicit resident feedback and implement improvements to meal quality and satisfaction.
• Assist with menu planning and maintain meal documentation records.
• Support cleaning of equipment and work areas and oversee kitchen, storage, and dining areas.
• Coordinate and plan food prep for special events and assist with production of meals.

Southtowns Care Center is seeking a full timeDietary Supervisor. The Dietary Supervisor will be responsible for assisting the Food Service Director in the creation of high quality meals and the delivering of a meaningful dining experience for clients in our long term skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing and assisting the Food Service Staff with meal preparation based on established menus, regulations, policies, procedures and best practices.

• Regularly soliciting client feedback and incorporating solutions regarding the quality and satisfaction of meals served.

• Assist with menu planning.

• Maintain and monitor accurate meal documentation records per established procedures.

• Assist with cleaning of equipment and work areas.

• Participate in resident care conferences as assigned.

• Assists cook with the production of meals for service, as required.

• Coordinates and plans food preparation activities for special events.

• Supervises the storage & care of food and supplies.

• Oversees the cleaning of the kitchen, storage, & dining areas, and equipment.

Qualifications:

• Must possess, as a minimum a high school or equivalent education.

• One (1) year food service experience in a restaurant, health care or senior services setting.

• Knowledge of state and federal food-handling and kitchen regulations (Serve Safe Certification). Must possess knowledge of food service operations.

• Must have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, coworkers, family members, visitors, and the general public.
