Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Dietary Services Manager Assistant to join our dietary team across more than 40 skilled nursing communities in Iowa. Full-Time position supports day-to-day operations, meal preparation, and staff training to ensure residents receive high-quality, safe meals.

Candidates with a State-approved Food Services Supervisor Course and ServSafe certification are preferred; healthcare dietary experience is a plus. We offer competitive compensation and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• State-approved Food Services Supervisor Course completed.
• Certified Food Protection Manager and ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Experience in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day operations of the dietary department.
• Support meal preparation and food service to ensure quality and residents’ satisfaction.
• Train and support dietary staff to promote a positive and productive work environment.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company food safety regulations.
• Assist with menu implementation, modified diets, and therapeutic meal services.
• Monitor food temperatures, storage practices, sanitation procedures, and kitchen safety standards.
• Assist with inventory management, ordering food, and supplies.
