Job summary

OPCO Skilled Management seeks a Dietary Department Supervisor to oversee food service and nutritional care in a hospital or long-term care setting. You will manage operations, supervise staff, ensure safe food handling, and ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards.

You will assist with ordering and menu changes, participate in staff and department meetings, help develop procedures, and perform miscellaneous duties as needed under the direction of the food service director.

Qualifications

• Certification in food safety as required by state regulations.
• Graduate of dietary manager training program approved by the Dietary Manager's Association and/or State Health Department preferred.
• Two to three years of supervisory experience in hospital or long-term care facility dietary department desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall functions of the dietary department to ensure quality food service and nutritional care.
• Assist with food ordering, storage and preparation as designated by the food service director.
• Ensure safe food handling techniques are used and standards for preparation and quality are met.
• Record menu changes under the direction of the food service director.
• Attend staff and departmental meetings and participate in required committees.
• Develop and update departmental procedures and policies as needed.
• Supervise dietary staff and perform miscellaneous assignments as required.
