Dietary Services Supervisor/Certified Dietary Manager - Alameda
Principal Responsibilities
CLINICAL
- Ensures the timely preparation and delivery of nutritious and attractive meals, and supplements to all residents according to physician’s orders and in compliance with Federal, State and Company requirements.
- Maintains a safe and sanitary working environment in compliance with Federal and State of California Guidelines.
- Ensures that meals are served according to resident requests, preferences, and needs.
- Implements and revises menus with Registered Dietician review and guidance to meet resident needs.
- Interacts effectively with Interdisciplinary team members.
ADMINISTRATIVE
- Maintain all records and documentation according to Federal, State and Company requirements.
- Maintains inventory of food and supplies to meet resident needs, and according to policy and planned menus.
- Participates in assigned meetings and in-services.
- Operates department with sensitivity to forecast needs.
- Ensures exchange of essential information with all departments as necessary to ensure quality resident care.
- Works with Registered Dietician to meet health goals of the residents.
SUPERVISORY
- Meets department work goals through assignment of staff.
- Monitors staff performance and addresses any needs.
- Evaluates quality of services accomplished by staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Graduate of California State approved DSS course, CDM certification with Title 22 coursework, or bachelor’s degree in related clinical nutrition field. For a complete list see California Safety Code 1265.4.
- One year experience in healthcare related food service preferred.
CONSUMER
- Adheres to company standards for resolving consumer concerns.
- Ensures that all consumer/resident rights are protected.
