Job summary

Infinity Healthcare Consulting seeks a full-time Dietary Manager to oversee the dietary department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards and delivering quality nutritional services daily.

The role requires coordinating care plans with Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, and other teams while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment and directing staff to meet resident dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates dietary services and activities with other related departments (e.g., Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.)
• Assists the dietary staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
• Assist in the development of preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the dietary needs of each resident
• Assist in developing a written dietary plan of care (preliminary and comprehensive) for each resident
• Assist in scheduling care plans and assessments for committee meetings
• Ensure dietary personnel are aware of the care plan and use it in planning daily services
• Ensure the care plan identifies equipment and utensils needed by residents
• Review and revise care plans and assessments at least quarterly
• Provide substitute foods of similar nutritive value to residents who refuse foods served
• Must be competent in use and sanitation of kitchen equipment
• Inspect storage rooms and closets for upkeep and supply control
• Process diet changes and new diets from nursing services
• Assist in identifying and classifying dietary functions with exposure to blood/body fluids
• Assist in planning dietary services portion of discharge plan
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections
• Interview residents or family to obtain diet history
• Assist in developing methods for determining quality and quantity of food served
• Ensure charted dietary progress notes are informative and descriptive
• Ensure menus are maintained and filed
• Maintain liaison with families and residents
• Visit residents to evaluate meals and preferences
• Involve resident/family in planning objectives and goals
• Assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed
• Assist in developing diet plans for residents
• Review therapeutic and regular diet plans for physician orders
• Review dietary requirements for admitted residents and assist physician in planning
• Ensure nourishing snacks at bedtime
• Make daily rounds to ensure duties are performed
• Attend mandatory meetings and in-services
• Other duties as assigned
