Job summary

Paradigm Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Dietary Manager to lead the dietary team in a skilled nursing facility in Houston, TX. The role focuses on managing staff, budgets, menu planning, and ensuring nutrition care compliance for residents.

Ideal candidates hold an active dietary management license, have supervisory experience in healthcare food service, and are committed to delivering high-quality meals and adherence to regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active license as a certified dietary manager or certified food service manager, or eligibility to work per federal/state law.
• Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a dietary department in a hospital, nursing facility, or medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Stock ingredients and monitor inventory for food, beverages, and supplies.
• Adhere to budget for supplies, food, and labor.
• Develop baseline care plans within 48 hours of admission.
• Document progress reports as per MDS guidelines.
• Attend care plan/Medicare meetings for special diets or nutrition concerns.
• Place food orders for residents with special dietary needs.
• Participate in menu planning.
• Oversee dietary staff and ensure sanitation, cooking, and service meet policies.
• Ensure clean and properly functioning food prep areas and equipment.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served per orders/diet instructions.
• Comply with OSHA and nursing home regulations and facility policies.
• Maintain dietary policies in line with applicable laws.
• Ensure licensure for dietary staff and facility compliance.
• Administer disciplinary actions fairly with HR coordination.
• Interact professionally with residents, families, staff, and supervisors.
