Job summary

Harborview Health Systems is seeking a dedicated Dietary Manager to lead the food service operations in our long‑term care setting. You will ensure therapeutic diets align with physician orders, regulatory standards, and patient needs while guiding dietary planning and resident care.

The role requires a Certified Dietary Manager with prior healthcare experience, strong knowledge of nutrition, safety, and infection control, and the ability to collaborate with clinical teams to optimize resident

Qualifications

• Certified Dietary Manager or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare or long-term care food service preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and infection control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the food service department.
• Ensure proper preparation and service of therapeutic diets per orders and standards.
• Contribute to dietary care plans and MDS-related sections.
• Plan menus to meet resident nutrition needs and coordinate consultant reviews.
• Monitor resident weights on admission and during changes.
• Set performance standards for service delivery and efficiency.
• Manage resources, costs, and department processes.
• Supervise dietary staff and promote accountability and safety.

The OpportunityWe are seeking a dedicated and organizedDietary Manager

What You Will Do

• Oversee and manage the daily operations of the food service department
• Ensure proper preparation and service of therapeutic diets in compliance with physician orders and regulatory standards
• Complete assigned sections of the MDS and participate in developing and revising dietary care plans
• Plan and adjust menus to meet the nutritional needs of residents, including consultant review and follow-up on dietary recommendations
• Monitor and assess resident weights upon admission, monthly, and during any significant change in condition
• Set and manage performance standards for food service delivery, optimizing efficiency, quality, and satisfaction
• Ensure proper resource planning, cost control, and operational processes within the department
• Supervise and support dietary staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and hospitality
• Duties as assigned

What You Must Have

• Certified Dietary Manager or equivalent
• Prior experience in food service management, preferably in a long‑term care or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, regulatory dietary standards, and infection control procedures
• ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification
