Job summary

Trinity Health PACE is seeking an experienced Dietary Manager to lead the daily operations of the Dietary Department within a PACE setting. You will ensure safe, nutritious, high-quality meals, supervise staff, manage inventories and budgets, and coordinate with dietitians and administration to meet participant dietary needs.

The role emphasizes adherence to therapeutic diets, staff development, and a commitment to quality care in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field; RDN preferred.
  • Minimum of five years in quantity food preparation in healthcare, hospitality, senior living, or related industry.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • ServSafe Certification required or to be obtained within three months of hire.
  • Strong leadership, budgeting, communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily dietary department operations, including food preparation, meal service, sanitation, inventory, and purchasing.
  • Ensure compliance with therapeutic diets, portion control standards, and food safety regulations.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop dietary staff while fostering a positive team environment.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, equipment safety, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly food inventories and manage departmental budgets and expenditures.
  • Coordinate special functions and catered events with administration and the dietitian.
  • Interact with participants to enhance dining experience and overall satisfaction.
  • Participate in food production activities as needed (cooking/baking/meal prep).
  • Promote Trinity Health PACE’s mission, values, and commitment to quality care.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and develop care plans with the interdisciplinary team.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Dietary Manager to lead the daily operations of our Dietary Department within a PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) setting. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, nutritious, and high-quality meal services that support participant health, wellness, and dietary needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with administration and the dietitian to coordinate special functions and catered events.
  • Interact with participants to enhance their dining experience and overall satisfaction.
  • Participate in food production activities, including cooking, baking, and meal preparation as needed.
  • Promote Trinity Health PACE’s mission, values, and commitment to quality care.
  • Conduct initial and annual comprehensive nutritional assessment on all participants. Coordinates with the interdisciplinary team to develop a comprehensive care plan for each participant.
  • Monitor monthly weights, medical diagnosis, drug nutrient interactions, reports changes to the interdisciplinary team and makes recommendations for changes to appropriate staff.
  • Perform initial and annual competencies on the Dietary Aide(s).
  • Oversee maintenance/cleanliness and orderliness of serving kitchen.
  • Act as a liaison with contracted meal service to ensure meals meet the needs of the PACE participants
  • Provide education and training to health care professionals as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food & Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field preferred; Registered Dietitian credentials are a plus.
