Position Summary

The Dietary Manager is a key leadership position responsible for the successful operation of Dining Services. The Dietary Manager oversees meal preparation and manages Dining Services operations, including staffing, food ordering, menu planning, food delivery, and sanitation, in accordance with health regulations. Ensures client and customer satisfaction through efficient, cost-effective management, and maintains a positive environment for residents.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Supervise and assign duties to food service staff, ensuring accountability.
2. Maintain equipment and work areas, adhere to safety and sanitation procedures, and control food costs and inventory.
3. Exercise independent judgment and discretion.
4. Interview, hire, and orient new staff.
5. Schedule staff, manage attendance, and address disciplinary issues.
6. Enforce policies and procedures, including safety and sanitation standards.
7. Evaluate staff performance and recommend employment changes.
8. Conduct dietary QA audits quarterly.
9. Plan menus in coordination with medical staff and special events.
10. Ensure meals are prepared according to recipes, are nutritious and appealing, and meet dietary needs. Supervise proper food storage and sanitation.
11. Provide excellent customer service to residents, visitors, and staff.
12. Ensure resident safety and satisfaction, greet visitors, and handle communications professionally.
13. Ensure staff attend trainings and provide in-service education as needed.
14. Attend training sessions as directed.
