The Dietary Manager plans, organizes, and directs food production, preparation, and service for the hospital. Establishes policies, procedures and departmental objectives. Supervise departmental personnel and all functions, including food service to the patients, staff members and the public (catering for meetings and other hospital functions) with limited help. Responsible for maintaining high standards of quality in products produced and also responsible for a safe and sanitary work area, food handling, and storage.

Education/Experience/Skills:

· Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential required or must be eligible and willing to obtain within 90 days of hire.

· High school diploma or equivalent,

· Two years experience in institutional supervision or a related field preferred.

· Experience in dietary services

· Ability to deal efficiently, ethically, and courteously with all customers.

· Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communications.

· Knowledge of food service operations, ability to interact with all department managers on a continuous basis and maintains favorable relationships with outside suppliers and vendors.

· Maintains confidentiality and requires good communication skills
