The Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and supporting residents’ nutritional needs.
Manage daily dietary and food service operations.
Interview, hire, train, and supervise dietary staff.
Create and maintain staff schedules.
Monitor resident satisfaction and adjust services accordingly.
Ensure compliance with health codes and dietary regulations.
Maintain accurate inventory and place food/supply orders.
Develop and manage department budget.
Plan and implement resident-centered dietary programs.
Oversee food storage, preparation, and sanitation protocols.
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or equivalent certification by the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP).
Successful completion of a certified Dietary Manager exam.
Minimum 2 years of foodservice management experience, preferably in long-term care or healthcare settings.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
