Job summary

Pearl of Orchard Valley in Illinois is seeking a Cook to support the Dietary Department. You will prepare meals, supervise staff, and ensure menu accuracy under the Dietary Manager.

Requires a High School or Culinary Tech graduate, ServeSafe certification (within 90 days), and ability to read recipes. COVID vaccination is required. This is a on-site role with a sign-on bonus and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or culinary tech graduate.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipes, production sheets, counts, diet orders, and tray tickets.
• Understand after training on computer software system for resident information and preferences.
• Must be ServeSafe certified or able to earn within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• The Cook works under the direction of the Dietary Manager.
• Prepare and portion hot and cold menu items according to the menu and recipe as noted on the production sheet counts.
• Serve resident meals according to the correct meal service times.
• Cover for staff members who call out due to illness.
• Ensure temperatures of food and equipment are recorded by meal.
• Maintain sanitation to state health regulations; practice a clean, safe work environment.
• Willing to work flexible work hours.
• Track inventory and communicate low supplies or place orders as needed.
• Label, wrap and date all unused food items.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Follow Pollak Innovation Management and facility policies and procedures.
