Job Overview

Lake Butler Hospital, a critical access hospital in North Florida, provides 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation, outpatient laboratory, and radiology services to Union County and surrounding areas. We are seeking a knowledgeable Executive Chef and Certified Dietary Manager to join our team! Full-time employees enjoy benefits such as medical coverage, paid time off, 401(k) after one year, and discounts at Willow Cafe.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Dietary Department, including hiring, training, and motivating staff to meet food preparation standards.
  • Cook and oversee daily food service operations, ensuring satisfaction and adherence to recipes and safety standards.
  • Develop menus, including special orders and catering.
  • Order and manage food inventory and shipments.
  • Ensure safe food handling and storage practices.
  • Coordinate staff scheduling and monitor compliance with safety and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to meet dietary needs of patients/residents.
  • Create and manage cycle menus for various diets.
  • Uphold confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and report violations.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma required; Certified Dietary Manager Certification required; Associates degree in culinary arts preferred.

Experience: 2-5 years as an Executive Chef and Certified Dietary Manager; supervisory experience required; hospital setting experience preferred.

Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge: Food service operations, safety standards, and procedures.

Abilities: Staff scheduling, inventory management, cash register operation.

Physical Requirements: Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds constantly.
