Job summary

NHC-White Oak in Charleston, SC seeks a Dietary Director to lead the dietary department, ensure high-quality food service, regulatory compliance, and a positive dining experience for residents. This salaried, full-time role includes staff development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strong budget oversight.

You will train and mentor staff, manage inventory, and coordinate with clinical teams to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• Completion of, or enrollment in, an approved Dietary Manager’s Course.
• Training in food service with ability to read, write, and follow written instructions.
• Preferred: Registered/Licensed Dietitian, CDM, Diet Technician with supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of dietetics principles, food sanitation, large-scale purchasing, labor laws, budgeting and reporting.
• Strong computer and keyboarding skills; coursework in nutrition or supervision is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the dietary department in alignment with resident needs and facility goals.
• Train and mentor dietary staff to meet regulatory and quality standards.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Establish and achieve departmental goals.
• Oversee all dietary operations to ensure quality service delivery.
• Attend Department Head meetings and manage budget parameters.
• Oversee food ordering, inventory, and invoice processing.
