Qualifications

• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Certified Food Service Manager or nationally recognized certification in food service management and safety.
• Associate's degree or higher in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field that includes food service or restaurant management coursework.
• Two or more years of experience as a Dietary Director in a nursing facility plus completion of a course of study in food safety and management.

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily operations of the Dietary Department.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, attractive, and prepared according to physician orders and approved menus.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local dietary regulations.
• Manage department budgets, food costs, inventory, and supply ordering.
• Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate dietary staff.
• Ensure proper food storage, preparation, sanitation, and safety practices.
• Coordinate with nursing, therapy, activities, and other departments.
• Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Provide ongoing education and training for dietary staff.
