We are seeking a Dietary Cook with nursing home experience to prepare meals for residents and maintain kitchen cleanliness.

Shift Availability

MORNING AND EVENING SHIFTS AVAILABLE

Summary

Prepares and cooks meals for residents and maintains standards of kitchen cleanliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare all food according to the menu in a safe, sanitary manner under the direction of the dining services coordinator/manager.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods according to standardized recipes.
• Prepare quality food products according to standardized recipes and menus.
• Prepare food in a timely manner at specified meal times.
• Take responsibility for total kitchen operations and handle situations according to policy.
• Respond to resident issues or concerns in the dining room.
• Follow departmental procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
• Properly clean and store dishes, utensils, and equipment.
• Label and date all food in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage.
• Ensure proper food handling to prevent contamination, increase quality, and reduce costs.
• Suggest menu or recipe changes to utilize leftovers and supplies.
• Clean all food service equipment and storage areas.
• Coordinate work of dining services aides.
• Use time efficiently to complete assigned tasks.
