Job summary

Vermillion Convalescent Center in Clinton, IN is seeking Dietary Cooks to join our healthcare team. You will prepare meals in line with planned menus and portion controls, and ensure all food storage and preparation areas meet sanitation standards.

The role involves coordinating with nursing on diet changes, reviewing menus, and assisting with inventory and supplies to support high-quality resident meals.

Qualifications

• Some training and experience in food preparation and sanitation.
• Knowledge of proper cooking methods and temperatures for best yield.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food in accordance with planned menus and portion control procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe department and storage areas, and ensure equipment and supplies are properly maintained.
• Review and process diet changes and coordinate dietary services with nursing and other departments.
• Review menus prior to preparation and inspect trays for accuracy of menu and diet preferences.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods, supplies and equipment.
