Aventura at Assumption Village is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious meals for residents in our healthcare facility.

Part-time or full-time roles require following dietary restrictions, maintaining sanitation, and providing alternatives as needed. A high school diploma and sanitation certificate are preferred, with experience in institutional cooking advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required at minimum.
• One year dietary experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Sanitation certificate is required.
• Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities and follow dietary procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Part Time Cook or Full Time Cook at Aventura at Assumption Village, you will prepare and assist with food preparation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while following specific dietary restrictions and providing alternatives for residents in our healthcare facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Some experience in institutional cooking; experience as a cook.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation and hygienic methods.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Sincere desire to work with elders and others who have a limited capacity for self-care.
• Mental & physical capacity to perform the essential job functions with or without accommodations.
• Work with and provides care to individuals of a wide range of personality types and maturity levels.
• The ability to demonstrate creative initiative and mature judgment in making competent decisions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Must possess a high school education or equivalent (at a minimum)
• One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary)
• Must have a sanitation certificate
• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities
• Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures
