Job summary

AVIR Health Group is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our team within a Texas facility. You will prepare and cook high-quality foods for regular and modified diets, serving residents, guests, and employees, while ensuring compliance with state health rules and facility standards.

Walk-ins are welcome daily. You will lead food preparation, adjust recipes for portions, and supervise team members. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and healthcare cuisine experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous Nursing Home experience preferred.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

Ensure all preparation and cooking strictly adheres to State Department of Health Rules and Regulations and established facility standards.
