Job summary

Memory Care Center at Emerald in Claremore, OK is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our Kitchen team. You will prepare meals according to dietary guidelines for residents in a skilled nursing setting, while keeping a clean, safe kitchen and collaborating with the dietary staff.

Responsibilities include following recipes, accommodating special diets, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records. This is a full-time role with morning hours and alternating weekends.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification or degree preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience as a cook, preferably in healthcare or institutional setting; knowledge of special diets a plus.
• Communications: Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to collaborate with diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation: Cook a variety of meals per planned menus and dietary guidelines.
• Menu Adherence: Follow standardized recipes and portion control for consistency.
• Kitchen Safety: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation per health regulations.
• Resident Needs: Adjust recipes for dietary restrictions and preferences while meeting nutritional requirements.
• Inventory Management: Assist with ordering and stocking food supplies.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with dietary staff and healthcare professionals on menus.
• Record Keeping: Maintain records of temperatures, portions, and dietary modifications.
• Training: Participate in ongoing training on food safety standards and dietary trends.
