Jourdanton Nursing and Rehab is seeking a talented Dietary Aide/Cook to join our team! Our facilities deliver exceptional care and foster strong employee bonds. We offer various living options and clinical services, aiming to revolutionize care by bringing together compassionate, skilled, and motivated individuals like you.

The Dietary Aide/Cook is a key team member who will lead in the kitchen, collaborating closely with the dietary director, assistants, aides, and cooks to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards and regulations governing skilled nursing, long-term care, and assisted living facilities.

Cook Responsibilities:
  • Prepare meals timely according to posted schedules and approved menus.
  • Manage time efficiently to ensure meal preparation is completed on schedule.
  • Properly store and handle meats and other ingredients.
  • Complete temperature logs and cleaning schedules diligently.
Dietary Aide Responsibilities:
  • Follow safety, infection control, and life safety policies during daily tasks.
  • Assist in food preparation and ensure proper handling and storage, respecting dietary needs and preferences.
  • Serve meals, clear dining areas, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Wash dishes, clean work areas, and ensure trays follow menus and resident preferences.
  • Distribute snacks and stock supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping, and appliance cleaning.
Cook Requirements:
  • Valid Food Handlers Permit.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Cook or similar role.
  • Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility is a plus.
