Job summary

AVIR Health Group is seeking a qualified Dietary Cook to join our family. The role focuses on preparing high-quality foods for regular and modified diets for residents, guests, and staff, in compliance with health rules and facility standards.

Walk-ins are welcome daily as part of outreach to fill shifts. The position emphasizes team-building, resident-focused care, and adherence to facility protocols, with opportunities to contribute to a positive kitchen culture and patient-centered nutrition

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous office experience preferred.
• Previous Nursing Home experience preferred.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

The purpose of this role is to prepare and cook high-quality foods for all regular and modified diets, serving residents, guests, and employees. Ensure all preparation and cooking strictly adheres to State Department of Health Rules and Regulations and established facility standards.
