Job summary

Chateau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rochelle Park, New Jersey, is seeking a dependable Dietary Cook to join our Food Services team. You will prepare nutritious meals that meet dietary needs and safety standards for our residents.

This full-time morning shift role offers the opportunity to collaborate with a Registered Dietitian and a dedicated team to support residents’ health and comfort. Experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred, with training provided to ensure

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Dietary Cook experience in a nursing home, rehabilitation center, or hospital.
  • Experience preparing meals in large quantities.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets, food preparation techniques, sanitation practices, and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing outstanding service.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously improve food service practices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes, production schedules, and resident dietary requirements.
  • Review daily menus and ensure meals are prepared accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare large quantities of food while maintaining taste, quality, and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with therapeutic, mechanical, and special diet orders.
  • Inspect meal trays to verify residents receive the correct prescribed diets.
  • Process new diet orders and dietary changes from Nursing Services.
  • Maintain accurate food production records, temperature logs, and required documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Dietitian to implement dietary recommendations and menu modifications.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
  • Assist with meal service and ensure food is delivered on schedule.
  • Participate in routine inspections to maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Food Services team and other departments to provide exceptional resident care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dietary Manager or Food Service Supervisor.

Chateau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dependable and experienced Dietary Cook to join our Food Services team. In this role, you will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and well‑being of our residents while ensuring all dietary requirements and food safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
