Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Dietary Supervisor, the Dietary Cook will prepare, season, and cook food for nursing home residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare food for residents.
2. Assist in clean-up, kitchen maintenance, and setting up and taking down dining areas.
3. Deliver food to residents’ rooms, prepare and serve snacks, and take inventory of food and kitchen supplies.
4. Learn the protocols and procedures for the facility, as well as the rules and regulations for the states where they work.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma.
• Preferred experience: at least 2 years in institutional food service.
• Candidates should be compassionate and patient, especially when working with elderly residents and their families.

Required Experience

• Cook/Dietary Aide: 1 year
• Experience in Long Term Care Dietary services required.
