Job summary

Meadowview Nursing Center in Pell City, AL, seeks a Dietary Cook to join the dietary department and help prepare nutritious meals for our 59 residents. Prior kitchen experience is preferred; training will be provided. You will work with the kitchen team to ensure high-quality meals and safe, sanitary practices.

• Assist with kitchen cleanliness and sanitation to uphold sanitation standards.
• Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies for meal preparation.
• Support events and activities with meal-related dining experiences for residents.
• Participate in nutrition education programs to enhance knowledge and skills.

Located at 7300 US Hwy 78 in Pell City, Meadowview Nursing Center is committed to providing a warm and homelike atmosphere for our 59 residents. We believe in making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every day.

As a Dietary Cook, you will play a vital role in our Dietary Department, working closely with our kitchen team to prepare and serve high-quality meals to our residents. Prior experience in a kitchen setting is preferred, and training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities of a Dietary Cook:

• Preparation of nutritious meals, snacks, and beverages following established recipes and dietary guidelines.
• Cooking and serving meals while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Collaborating with the dietary manager or supervisor to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of our residents.
• Assisting with kitchen cleanliness and maintenance to uphold sanitation standards.
• Monitoring food inventory levels and placing orders as needed to ensure sufficient supplies for meal preparation.
• Providing assistance during special events or activities organized within the facility, such as holiday meals or themed dining experiences, to ensure a memorable and enjoyable dining experience for residents.
• Participation in educational programs on nutrition to enhance knowledge and skills.
