Job summary

Milton Nursing and Rehab Center is seeking a dedicated Cook to manage food production and ensure safety in a 138-bed facility. You will prepare meals, follow dietary guidelines, and support residents with nutritious dining experiences.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of food prep experience in healthcare or hospitality, and possess strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, and a compassionate attitude toward the elderly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of food preparation experience in a restaurant, hotel, or healthcare setting.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and a compassionate attitude toward the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation and serving high-quality meals according to recipes and menus.
• Follow dietary modifications and nutritional guidelines as ordered for residents (e.g., low sodium, mechanical soft).
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and adhere to local health department regulations and food safety standards.
• Stock, rotate, and date products using FIFO methods.
• Collaborate with the Dining Services Coordinator and dietary aides to ensure timely meal delivery and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Dietary Compliance: Follow specific dietary modifications and nutritional guidelines as ordered for residents (e.g., low sodium, mechanical soft).

• Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and adhere to all local health department regulations and food safety standards.

• Inventory Management: Stock, rotate, and date products using "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) methods.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the Dining Services Coordinator and dietary aides to ensure timely meal delivery and service.

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
