Job summary

Sevita’s NeuroRestorative division is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant to support individuals receiving services. You will review menus, prepare meals, and ensure safe food handling in a team setting.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, up to six months of related experience, and ServSafe certification is preferred. Shifts are 10–12 hours, wage $18–$20 per hour, with on-site work in a supportive, client-centered environment.

Job description

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Part Time - 10-12 hr shifts

$18-20/hr

SUMMARY

Coordinates menus and maintains kitchen inventory. Handles food properly in compliance with health safety. Prepares food for individuals receiving services. Ensures cooking equipment is in good order.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

  • Reviews menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.
  • Prepares, seasons and cooks food.
  • Carves portions of meat, fish or fowl for individual servings.
  • Inspects food storage and directs sanitary maintenance of kitchen and storage facilities.
  • Oversees and coordinates activities of kitchen workers preparing and cooking foods.
  • Plans and reviews menus.
  • Determines food quantities, labor and overhead costs.
  • May participate in food preparation.
  • Performs other related duties and activities as required.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required to perform the job:

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Six months related experience
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • ServSafe Certification preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Medium Work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
