Job summary

AVIR Health Group in Lindale, Texas seeks a qualified Dietary Cook to join our family and support resident meals with care and attention to nutritional needs.

Walk-ins are welcome daily, and we offer competitive pay, daily pay options, a 401(k) match, and benefits for the whole family, including PTO and health insurance.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED and prior food service or healthcare kitchen experience; previous nursing home exposure is preferred to tailor meals for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous office experience preferred.
• Previous Nursing Home experience preferred.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets regarding individual resident nutritional needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings if necessary.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.
