Job summary

Barren County Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our team. The role focuses on preparing meals that meet resident dietary needs and physician orders, while delivering high-quality, timely service in a cheerful, resident-centered environment.

You will monitor inventory, maintain sanitation, and supervise dietary assistants, all while adhering to health regulations and infection control procedures.

Qualifications

  • Prepare and serve meals following resident dietary needs and physician orders.
  • Ensure food quality, proper portioning and timely meal service.
  • Monitor inventory and place supply orders as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary kitchen in compliance with health regulations.
  • Supervise dietary assistants as assigned.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety and sanitation procedures.

Requirements
  • Prepare and serve meals in accordance with resident dietary needs, physician orders, and nutritional guidelines
  • Ensure food quality, proper portioning, and timely meal service
  • Monitor food inventory levels and place supply orders as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and work environment in compliance with health regulations
  • Supervise and provide guidance to dietary assistants as assigned
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and sanitation procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience cooking in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred
  • Strong understanding of dietary needs and food safety regulations
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
