Job summary

AVIR Health Group in Texas is seeking a qualified Dietary Cook to join our family and care for residents, guests, and staff. You will prepare and cook high-quality foods for regular and modified diets while adhering to state health rules and facility standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in culinary/food service in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Nursing home experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize a variety of cooking and food preparation equipment and techniques.
• Prepare simple food regimes and basic modified diets for individual resident needs.
• Adjust recipes to yield the required number of servings.
• Test recipes and recommend changes in recipes.
• Prepare and cook food in batches, maintaining high quality and appeal.
• Direct activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals.

We are searching for a Dietary Cook that is resident, and family-focused, a team builder, and excited about the opportunity to assist in building a facility culture. The purpose of this role is to prepare and cook high-quality foods for all regular and modified diets, serving residents, guests, and employees. Ensure all preparation and cooking strictly adheres to State Department of Health Rules and Regulations and established facility standards. • Previous office experience preferred.
• Previous Nursing Home experience preferred.
• Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility preferred.
