Job summary

A Dietary Cook is supervised by the Dietary Services Manager and prepares, seasons and cooks meals for nursing home residents, staff and visitors. This full-time role requires working every other weekend, with duties including inventory, kitchen maintenance, and following facility protocols.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least 1 year of institutional food service experience, with a compassionate approach to residents and their families.

Qualifications

• Must be compassionate and patient with elderly residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for residents, staff, and visitors.
• Assist in cleaning up and kitchen maintenance.

Dietary Cook Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Dietary Services Manager, the Dietary Cook will prepare, season and cook food for nursing home residents, staff and visitors.

Full Time Plus Every Other Weekend Required

Dietary Cook Qualifications:

• Minimum education: High school degree.
• Experience: prefer a minimum of 1 years’ experience in institutionalized food service.
• Along with physical skills, a cook must be compassionate and patient when working with elderly residents, as well as the residents’ family members.
