Job summary

Forest Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Carlisle, PA, is seeking a dedicated Dietary Cook to prepare nutritious, appealing meals that meet therapeutic and dietary guidelines. You will work under the Dietary Manager to plan menus, maintain inventory, and ensure food safety standards are strictly followed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a cook in a nursing home or healthcare facility is preferred.
• Familiarity with therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions.
• Strong culinary skills and a genuine enthusiasm for preparing appetizing, healthful meals.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Effective organizational and time management abilities.
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes, portion control, and dietary restrictions.
• Ensure quality, presentation, and taste meet high standards.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to plan well-balanced, nutritious menus.
• Maintain proper inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
• Uphold a clean and organized kitchen while following food safety guidelines.
• Address special dietary requests or restrictions as necessary.
• Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff.
