We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Dietary Cook to join our team. The Dietary Cook prepares nutritious meals for our residents while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. This role is vital in supporting the nutritional well-being and overall quality of life for our residents.
Prepare and cook meals in accordance with planned menus, dietary restrictions, and portion controls.
Ensure food is prepared and served at proper temperatures and in an appealing and sanitary manner.
Follow all sanitation and food safety procedures in compliance with health department regulations.
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, work areas, and food storage areas.
Assist with receiving and storing food and supplies in an organized and timely manner.
Collaborate with dietary aides and staff to ensure timely meal service.
Adapt recipes and menu items to meet the special dietary needs of residents (e.g., diabetic, low sodium, pureed diets).
Monitor food inventory and notify supervisor of shortages or low-stock items.
Comply with infection control policies and participate in safety and sanitation training as required.
Exhibit professional behavior and promote a positive, respectful environment for residents and staff.
Previous experience in a healthcare dietary setting or institutional cooking preferred.
Knowledge of basic nutrition, food preparation techniques, and dietary requirements for seniors.
Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary guidelines accurately.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
Must pass background check and health screening as required by facility policies.
