Epic Healthcare in Bell Gardens, CA is seeking a Dietary Cook to prepare nourishing meals for residents in a compassionate, patient-centered kitchen.

You will follow infection control practices, manage food temperatures, and work with a team to meet menu guidelines and nutrition needs. Shift flexibility may include early mornings or evenings.

Formación

• 1+ year(s) of cook experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience cooking large quantities.
• Food Handler or Serv Safe certification.
• Experience with nutrition-focused meal prep.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain a safe culinary environment with strict infection control.
• Keep kitchen and equipment clean and organized; ensure safe food temperatures.
• Wash, dry and store dishes after meals.
• Follow the provided menu to meet residents' nutrition needs.
• Assist in Health Department inspections when needed.
• Prepare nourishing meals and snacks using mostly non-processed foods.
• Report shortages of ingredients to the Culinary Lead.
• Report broken equipment to Culinary Lead immediately.
• May take extra shifts or help with special occasions; may include early morning or evening hours.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe culinary environment in the facility using strict infection control procedures.


• Kitchen and equipment will be clean and organized at all times. Safe food temperatures willbe maintained at all times according to regulations.


• Dishes will be cleaned and properly stored after every meal.


• Follow the provided food menu for nutritionally sound meals, with the needs andpreferences of the residents kept in mind.


• Contact the Lead or Resident Services Manager to assist in Health Department inspections ifthey occur on your shift.


• Prepare and offer nourishing meals and snacks using as many non-processed foods aspossible.


• Report shortages or needs of snacks or meal ingredients to the Culinary Lead.


• Report any broken or malfunctioning equipment to Culinary Lead immediately.


• May be asked to take extra shifts or help with special occasions.


• This may include earlymorning or evening hours.

Qualifications:

• Must have 1+ years experience as a Cook.


• Cook/Dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care home or other related medical facility is preferred but not required.


• Experience in cooking a variety of food in large quantities.


• Food Handlers or Serv Safe certification.


• Experience with food preparation and nutrition.
