Job summary

McPherson Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Dietary Clerk for the AM shift to monitor patient menus and update dietary records. You will support kitchen staff with cold food prep, meal service, and Meals-On-Wheels distributions, while maintaining safe food handling and organized work areas.

The role emphasizes teamwork, basic math, and clear communication, with a full-time daytime schedule and a focus on patient care in a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Minimal or no experience required.

Responsibilities

• Review menus for current and upcoming days to ensure an organized and steady work environment.
• Analyze and prepare cold food products and replenish shortages to meet consumer demands.
• Assist in serving meals to patients and Meals-On-Wheels participants.
• Monitor and adjust patient dietary information and update records accordingly.
• Organize and distribute delivered goods to ensure food safety.
• Maintain a clean workspace for patients, employees, and visitors.

Dietary Clerk Job Summary:

The AM Clerk monitors menus and patient dietary changes. Makes updates in the patient dietary book to inform other dietary staff of these changes and assists the other kitchen staff with cold food preparation, serving meals, and aiding in the assembly of Meals-On-Wheels food distributions.

Dietary Clerk Essential Accountabilities:

• Environmental Surroundings:
  • Potential exposure to airborne diseases. The same as for any individual working in a hospital environment that is dependent on a ceiling ventilation system for in flow and out flow of air. Regular exposure to moderate physical discomfort from fumes or odors, extreme temperatures, loud noises, and bright lights.
