Job summary

McPherson Hospital Inc. is seeking a Dietary Clerk for the AM shift to monitor patient menus, update the dietary book, and support kitchen staff with cold food prep and meal distribution.

The role includes helping with Meals-On-Wheels and ensuring accurate patient dietary information is reflected in records. The position is full-time with a 6:00am–2:30pm schedule and offers benefits such as health insurance, a retirement plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimal or no prior experience required.
• Ability to perform basic math and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus for current and upcoming days to ensure an organized and steady work environment.
• Analyses and prepares any cold food products and replenishes shortages to meet customer needs and maintain service quality.
• Assists in serving meals to current patients and Meals-On-Wheels participants.
• Monitors and updates patient dietary information to records and adapt services accordingly.
• Organizes and distributes delivered goods to maintain safe food handling and storage.
• Maintains a clean workspace and orderly environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Dietary Clerk Job Summary: The AM Clerk monitors menus and patient dietary changes. Makes updates in the patient dietary book to inform other dietary staff of these changes and assists the other kitchen staff with cold food preparation, serving meals, and aiding in the assembly of Meals-On-Wheels food distributions.

• Environmental Surroundings:
  • Potential exposure to airborne diseases. The same as for any individual working in a hospital environment that is dependent on a ceiling ventilation system for in flow and out flow of air. Regular exposure to moderate physical discomfort from fumes or odors, extreme temperatures, loud noises, and bright lights.
