Job summary

Aster Springs is seeking a Dietetic Care Specialist to prepare meals and snacks for clients in accordance with dietary guidelines. You will support the team by rotating stock, maintaining logs, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

The role requires collaboration with the Dietitian and readiness to assist with menu adjustments as needed. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s preferred, CPR/First Aid certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Meal preparation experience in like setting preferred.
• Continued education courses in dietetics, psychology, or social work preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for clients and appropriate staff per menus.
• Prepare snacks/shakes according to guidelines.
• Rotate stored food by date and maintain dietary logs.
• Disinfect back stock/storage areas per guidelines.
• Record refrigerator/freezer temperatures daily.
• Provide emotional support to clients as needed.
• Coordinate with Dietitian on kitchen supply needs.
• Schedule shopping to meet meal responsibilities.
• Communicate cooking, defrosting, cleaning, and storage guidelines for inspections.
• Report equipment issues and follow up with Dietitian/Executive Director.
• Assist with menu changes and meal prep as needed.
