Job summary

St. Elizabeth's Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, a Vierra Communities property, is hiring a Dietary Assistant Supervisor to lead in creating a safe, comfortable home for residents. The role is full-time, non-exempt, and supervised within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in long term care and/or sub-acute setting preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to interact positively with residents, staff and the public.
  • Good organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Follows standards and procedures for preparing food.
  • Participates in menu planning including resident preferences and therapeutic diets.
  • Inspects meals for appearance, palatability, temperature, and timing.
  • Assists with budget and purchasing of food and supplies.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Oversees safe and timely meal preparation and serving.
  • Monitors regular and therapeutic diets to meet residents' needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Follows standards and procedures for preparing food.
  • Participates in menu planning including responding to resident preferences, substitution lists, therapeutic diets, and industry trends.
  • Inspects meals and ensures that standards for appearance, palatability, temperature, and serving times are met. Ensures that foods are prepared according to production schedules, menus, and standardized recipes.
  • Assistswith the budget andpurchasingof food and supplies, and food preparation, services, and storage.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Overseeing safe andtimelymeal preparation, including the provision of meals and/or supplementsin accordance withresidents’ needs, preferences, and care plan.
  • Monitors regular and therapeutic diets, including texture of foods and liquids to meet the specialized needs of residents.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in long term care and/or sub-acute setting preferred
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability tomaintainrecords and complete reports asrequired, including web-based reporting
  • Hands on knowledge and experience with dietary equipment
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact positively with residents, otherpersonneland the public
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively with a team
  • Ability to work independently as needed to support the group effort
  • People management and staff development
