This position involves various food service duties, including patient tray line, dish room, utilities, cafeteria serving, and cold food production. The Dietary Assistant will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality food and service to patients and customers.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure

• For West Virginia locations (excluding Berkeley/Morgan County): Valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from the local health department before starting, or obtain a Temporary FSWP by the first day and a permanent FSWP within one week or next available class.
• For Ohio locations: Obtain a ServSafe Person In Charge certification within 90 days of hire.
• For Maryland locations: Valid Food Service Worker Permit from the local health department or equivalent before starting, or obtain a Temporary FSWP by the first day and a permanent one within one week or next available class.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include preparing work areas, setting up and maintaining cleanliness, producing quality food, following menu cycles and recipes, serving customers, addressing complaints, maintaining sanitation and safety standards, monitoring equipment, and proper food storage.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to push a fully loaded tray cart (~250 lbs).
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Work Environment

• Interaction with patients, including those in distress or in isolation precautions.
• Work in a noisy kitchen environment.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to understand written and oral communication.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word.
• Telephone etiquette and skills.
