Job Overview

This position involves various food service duties, including patient tray line, dish room, utilities, cafeteria serving, and cold food production. The Dietetic Assistant will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality food and service to patients and customers.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure

• For West Virginia locations (excluding Berkeley/Morgan County): Valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) or obtain a Temporary FSWP before starting and a permanent FSWP within 1 week or next available class.
• For Ohio locations: Obtain a ServSafe Person In Charge certification within 90 days of hire.
• For Maryland locations: Valid Food Service Worker Permit or obtain a Temporary FSWP before starting and a permanent FSWP within 1 week or next available class.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas, maintain sanitation, and organize assigned areas.
• Produce quality food and beverages, following menu and recipes.
• Serve customers politely and efficiently, address complaints professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness, document temperatures, operate and store equipment properly.
• Store and label food and chemicals correctly.

Physical Requirements

• Push tray carts weighing approximately 250 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods.

Working Environment

• Interact with patients, including those in distress or in isolation precautions.
• Work in a noisy kitchen environment.

Skills and Abilities

• Understand written and oral communication.
• Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse, tablet, Microsoft Word).
• Telephone etiquette and skills.
