Job Description

Performs a variety of tasks related to the preparation, service, and cleanup for meals served to patients and staff, generally not requiring cooking skills.

General Duties

1. Assist the cook as directed by the food service director.
2. Prepare and label nourishments according to center procedures.
3. Prepare and portion desserts, salads, and other non-entrée foods; pour beverages.
4. Follow production sheets and guidelines for pre-preparation when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand English for business necessity.
• Basic understanding of sanitation, organization, and safety.
• Prior experience in food service preferred.
• Prior experience in long-term care preferred.
