The Dietary Aide assists the cook in meal preparation and service under the supervision of the Dining Services Manager. Responsibilities include:

  • Proficiency with menu tray card system
  • Preparing and distributing meals and snacks
  • Dishwashing and cleaning in accordance with infection control standards
  • Proper food storage and handling
  • Operating kitchen appliances safely
  • Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen and equipment
  • Providing excellent customer service to residents, families, and staff
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

  • Food service experience (preferred but not required)
  • Experience in long-term care or retirement communities (preferred)
  • ServSafe certification (preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, and understand basic information
  • Physical ability to walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical tasks
  • Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials
