Job summary

Harrison Senior Living in Salisbury, MD is seeking a compassionate dietary aide to support meals for residents, ensuring appetizing presentation and timely service. You will assist cooks, help with meal trays, clean dining areas, and follow safety policies.

Requires high school diploma, patience with elderly, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to participate in training. We offer a full benefits package including health insurance with HSA/FSA, PTO, dental, 401(k), tuition

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and motivational skills.
• Must meet health requirements including medical/physical examination.
• Must be able to push/pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Assist in serving meals on a timely basis.
• Prepare and deliver snacks and meals as instructed.
• Clean work tables, blocks, refrigerators/freezers, and dining areas.
• Dishwashing and return of clean utensils to storage.
• Assist cook in preparing meals and setting up meal trays.
• Distribute menus and obtain food supplies for next meal.
• Attend training programs as directed.
• Assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies.

Responsibilities:

• Harrison Senior Living Serves meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Clean work tables, meat blocks, refrigerators/freezers etc.
• Sweep and mop floors as directed.
• Dishwashing.
• Return clean utensils to proper storage areas.
• Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
• Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
• Assist cook in preparing meals.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Obtain food supplies for next meal.
• Assist in checking diet trays before distribution.
• Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
• Serve food in dining room as instructed.
• Prepare and deliver snacks, etc., as instructed
• Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, in-service training programs, etc., as directed.
• Assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
• Ability to perform duties with consideration for residents’ rights at all times and demonstrate integrity and discretion in the care of residents and in handling their health information.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and motivational skills.
• Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility which include a medical and physical examination.
• Must be able to push pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
