POSITION SUMMARY

The Dietary Aide - Server assists with food preparation, food service, and general duties of the dietary department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists in the preparation of food and is responsible for serving meals, snacks, and beverages using portion control and applicable sanitation practices.
2. Delivers meals to resident rooms or tables and sets up meal trays according to dietary orders and tray cards, ensuring residents are served proper diets and food preferences promptly.
3. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dietary equipment, and dining areas, including work areas and floors.
4. Washes utensils, dishes, and pots and pans using dishwashers or proper handwashing techniques, ensuring equipment functions correctly and records temperatures as required.
5. Ensures proper storage, rotation, preparation, and labeling of food per state and local guidelines and company policies, discarding outdated food.
6. Collaborates with dietary staff to verify equipment is functioning properly, records temperatures, and reports any issues immediately.
7. Follows safety protocols for fire, infection control, and hazardous chemicals, reporting unsafe conditions.
8. Greet residents, visitors, and staff courteously, respecting dignity and confidentiality, and promoting rights.
9. Prepares the dining area for subsequent meals and ensures supplies are stocked.
10. Assists with storing incoming food and supplies as assigned.
11. Participates in training, in-services, and staff meetings.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
