Job summary

Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility is seeking a Dietary Aide to join our compassionate team. You will assist the Cook, help plan regular and special diets, and ensure meals are prepared safely and served properly to residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Cook to implement recommended changes and assist in planning regular and special diet menus as prescribed by attending physicians.
• Recognize and respond to dietary emergencies, document observations, interventions and outcomes.
• Complete forms, reports, evaluations and studies to assure control of equipment and supplies.
• Assist in developing methods to determine quality and quantity of food served.
• Meet with the Dietary Supervisor to identify and correct problems and improve services.
• Assist the Cook in preparation of food.
• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing following portion-control procedures and therapeutic diets.
• Inspect diet trays for accuracy, portion, layout and safety; evaluate kitchen and dietary area for upkeep and cleanliness.
• Operate the dishwasher and maintain the kitchen area.
• Report disrepair of dietary equipment and supplies.
