Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living is seeking a dedicated team member to prepare and serve meals that meet residents' nutritional and dietary needs. You will assist in dishwashing and cleaning tasks to support a safe, welcoming dining environment.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in a food service setting, understand nutrition basics, and excel in communication and teamwork, guided by person-centered care principles.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year in a food service institutional setting.
• Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of person-centered care.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt to schedules.

Participates as needed to prepare and serves appetizing, nourishing, well-balanced meals to meet the daily nutritional and special dietary needs for each resident. Assists in dishwashing operation and cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Handles and stores all food according to facility procedures and safe food handling guidelines.
• Assists with food preparation as assigned by supervisor
• Prepare food items according to the standardized recipes insuring safe food handling practices.
• Uses food supplies and equipment in an efficient and economic manner to prevent waste.
• Operates institutional food preparation and cleaning equipment (including dish machine) according to manufacturer and supervisory direction. Follows proper cleaning and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Assists with the set-up of the food tray line or set up of buffet dining
• Assembles meals and trays for residents according to the facility procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• One-year experience in food service institutional setting preferred.
• Basic understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
• Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
• Understanding of person-centered care.
• Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
