Job description

We are hiring a casual Dining Assistant / Dietary Aide, picking up shifts as needed (days and afternoons). This position will provide healthy and homemade meals within a convent home for Franciscan sisters in Lodi, NJ (near Felician University).

General Summary:

The Dining Assistant prepares, serves, and delivers food within the convent according to established policies and procedures. This position is responsible for cleaning the food service areas and equipment. The Dining Assistant assures proper storage of food and other dining supplies.

We believe care partners in all departments should be able to engage in quality interpersonal experiences with sisters and engage in meaningful interactions during the course of every day. We recognize that teamwork and maintaining partnerships among all departments is critical.

Education and Experience:

  1. Minimum of two (2) years of food service or restaurant experience (working in a commercial or institutional food service environment is a PLUS).
  2. Experience in an Assisted Living, Long-Term Care, hospital or other healthcare environment is preferred but not required. SERV Safe certification preferred.
  3. High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
